This is my first movie review on The Mimir Journal. Just to let you know where my point of view is coming from... I am not a Film Snob. I like movies! Too many people think that if the film has subtitles, or is in black and white, it just must be a good movie. Bull Crap! Gees if I wanted to read, I would buy a book. And have you ever watched AMC or TCM for any amount of time, you know most of the old movies were nothing more than what would pass as hour long TV shows today.
Also, I don't like going to the movieplex unless it is a movie made for the big screen. What I mean by this is that chick flicks can wait for the DVD. I also like going to the first show of the day. Its CHEAPER!
There is more but I think you get the idea.
So The Green Hornet. Staring Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz, and some other actors I cannot remember.
The Green Hornet started as a radio show and a comic book. I remember it as a kid from the short lived TV show. I really like the TV show for 3 reasons.
1. The Theme Music. Al Hirt playing the "Flight of the Bumblebee" click here to listen
The new movie did not use this music. It was used in the radio show and the movie serials. One can catch a small bit of the song at the end credits.
2. Kato. Bruce Lee was Kato in the TV show and he kicked some serious ass. Jay Chou was Kato for this movie and he kicked some serious ass.
3. The Car aka technologically advanced, "The Black Beauty." This movie had a great technologically advanced car, The Black Beauty.
So Two out of Three.
I liked this movie, Go see it. Cameron Diaz was good and hot as ever. Seth Rogen is just a funny guy and he pulled this performance off well.
Damn, I don't have a cute gimmick to show how much I liked this movie. I dont want to use Stars or whatever. I will have to think on this. So in the mean time, I give it a 46
