I know who is playing, just joking. I am a big sports fan. By big I don't mean tall or too fat, but I follow the major sports teams here in Northern California. So its the Pittsburgh Steelers verses the Green Bay Packers.
As a San Francisco 49ers fan, This NFL season was almost non-event. I have a few friends who are fans of DA Bears and they would chatter about it on their Facebook page. My brother was a fan of the Packers during the days of Bart Starr. The 49ers are his team these days. The Packers were my second favorite team those days just because the 49ers were never in the playoffs. ( I was very very young then.)
So we and the rest of my friends will root for the Green Bay Packers Superbowl Sunday. Not because of any passion for them but ya gotta root for someone when you drink beer and eat chips for hours watching TV.
When I talked to Andy (my brother) the other day about this NFL season, he agreed that its seemed so void of any excitement. We both knew the reason why. It was not because the San Francisco Forty Niners sucked so much, but because something else was going on for the first half of the NFL season.
It was something that has not happened for a very long time. The San Francisco Giants were in the Playoffs. and the post season went into November. As you should know, My Giants won the World Series and Football really didn't matter.
Andy and I still can't stop smiling.
